I would underscore that your technique of working with us individually, by leveraging your training to our individual approaches to our boat, made a great deal of difference between a highly successful session versus it being merely exposure to useful nautical knowledge. "Most people don't consider how important it is to work with or learn from people whose personalities contribute to their work, rather than detract from it. A teacher who is impatient, who is too loud or arrogant, too fixed in his ways, can very negatively impact one's learning experience, and often one will not immediately understand why, but only shy away from future endeavors. This couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to Capt. Ken Miller.

His sense of responsibility and willingness to learn new things extends to all levels of his work, from impeccable care of sailboats he is in charge of, to his friendly and open approach to students/crew he instructs.

A word of warning: Capt. Ken Miller will make sure you know certain techniques and important aspects of sailing as though you had been born into them, whether you like it or not (though he will do so in a good-humored and friendly manner)! This is something to be thankful for, as it only strengthens one's confidence and reflexes at sea.


Capt. Miller somehow manages to blend into the boat itself when necessary, letting people aboard relax and enjoy their journey as few people can do, in the manner of a true gentleman captain of the kind one cannot readily find nowadays.
